Simonit & Sirch pruning method: a training system and plant management choice

In the last years we decided to use in our vineyards the Simonit & Sirch pruning method, together with the guyot training system.

For us, this is the perfect match in order to respect and take care of our plants and to have the best production result in quality.

What about Simonit & Sirch method

The Simonit & Sirch Pruning is based on 4 simple but important principles: allowing the plant to branch with age, occupy space with the trunk and branches; guarantee the continuity of the lymphatic flow; make small cuts on young wood, not very invasive; use, when necessary, the so-called “respect wood” technique to remove the desiccation from the main sap flow.

This branched pruning method, reduces the devastating impact that incorrect cuts have on the plant’s lymphatic system. This helps to prevent pathogens attacks and so reduce the use of plant protection products.
